is superior in every way. Better beef, better bun, better everything. The truffle fries are unbelievable. Rich, crisp and delicious. Of course my choice in dipping sauce is the stone ground mustard (ask for it) but all of the dipping options are great. The beer menu consists of American Craft Brews, listed by brewery. With nearly 100 beer options and the awesome “Adult Milkshakes”, I’d suggest having a drink with your burger.
The Spot its self exudes “Cool”. The decor in light blue and grey is inviting and hip all at the same time. The feel of the restaurant definitely compliments the Blanc Restaurants while maintaining an image of their own. The Bar features an interesting decor of paneling, mirrors, and the beer selection. The dining area looks to be the right size for staying full. In other words, be prepared for a wait when B:2 opens for dinner on Thursday, April 22nd. B:2 will offer dinner service exclusively until Monday, April 26th when they will open for lunch. Make sure you check it out the first chance you get. I guarantee it is well worth any wait.
B:2 a Burger Boutique opens for dinner on Thursday at 5PM in the Summit Fair Shopping Center.

I have been looking forward to trying B:2, but I have to admit to disappointment in the limited menu. I know they have cut back their "traditional" menu to "suit" the Lee's Summit location, but I am wondering if this will turn out to be a mistake. It seems that many stores and resturants have placed reduced versions when coming to Lee's Summit, underestimating the demand and appetite our citizens have for such amenities. Time will tell, but it is wonderful to have more options.
ReplyDeleteb;2 is a concept unique to Lee's Summit, it is not a reduced version, it is completely new, it is going to be a great success based on turn out over last two nights...
ReplyDeleteI actually don't think anyone will be disappointed in the menu at all once they see that in addition to the crazy good burgers, there is now a chicken sandwich, a fish option and an eggplant choice! I wish those were at the orginal Blanc locations too now! The Caprese burger I tried last night was off the charts-- I would drive from O.P. to get that! My prediction.... B:2 will be a huge success. Everyone who thinks it's a burger place just has to go ONCE and see what it really is!
ReplyDeleteI know that I want to try everything on the menu. That in and of its-self is enough to keep me coming back. Not to mention, I love what I've already tasted. I really don't see the menu as an issue. If anything, space could be their first issue. I expect them to be full for a long time.
ReplyDeleteI just ate at b2. Was the first one there when it opened today for dinner. I was extremely disappointed. I had the caprese burger. It tasted super salty. The bun was not appetizing. My daugter had the eggplant, and the texture was disgusting. I love the original b+b, the onside-out is the best burger I've ever had. The menu was not good at b2. My son likes to go there for "fancy" soda (pineapple, guava, etc.), and all they had was lost trail bottled products. We were all disappointed. I will never go back. I am frankly quite offended at the menu. It's like Lees Summit wasn't good enough to have the original menu that is so awesome at b+b. If you are a fan of the original b+b be prepared for disappointment.
ReplyDeleteTo be fair, B:2 is a different restaurant. Its like complaining that your Whopper sucked at McDonalds.
ReplyDeleteSo thats one up vote for the Caprese and one down vote. I've inquired about the soda selection to see if there is plans to offer other soft drinks. As the first paying customer, its hard not to expect perfection but I'd bet a second trip would change your mind. Did you voice your disappointment to the management? They are very receptive to criticism and would probably like to hear your opinion. Thanks for reading!
ReplyDeleteI ate my first meal at B2 tonight & it was AWESOME!!! I admit that at first I was a little apprehensive about a whole new burger menu having eaten at the other Blanc locations several times, but I was blown away!! My girlfriend & I both had the Caprese burgers & we both loved them. The sweet potato fries were great as always. I could care less about soda choices - that just fills you up faster! Great service as well - I will definitely be back quite often!
ReplyDeleteit surprises me that people complain about b:2, b:2 is a different concept created for Lee's Summit, it is not like they opened blanc burgers AND changed menu...it is called b:2, different name THEREFORE different menu...if you dont like their soda selection do us a favor and go to blanc burgers AND leave space for everybody else who is happy that somebody decided to bring something cool and UNIQUE to Lee's Summit... my wife and i went there for dinner tonight and please was full of people enjoying great food...i had a great time, thank you B:2 for believing in Lee's Summit and creating a cool place for us to call our own...
ReplyDeleteI went to b2 last night. Not good. The fries with gouda fondue aren't good when the cheese is congealed when you receive it. Burgers were lukewarm at best. I noticed some of the reviews from above raving about b2 must work there. I saw Patrick on the waitstaff and eric also must work there since he was commenting on the turnout two days before it opened for the public. And what is it about not comparing the resteraunts? Prices are similar, but quality and portion sizes way different. Why have an establishment that had a burger voted best in the state of Missouri and not offer it at your new restaraunt? The only comparison worth making is one is good and one is not.
ReplyDeleteI can assure you that I don't work at B:2. I write this blog and have a day job as an IT hack. On top of that, I'm a dad to 2 little girls and a husband to my wonderful wife. Not much time left for moonlighting at a brand new restaurant.
ReplyDeleteMy whopper didn't suck at McDonald. My B:2 burger just plain sucked.
ReplyDeleteanonymous...like i said before, if YOU dont like it just dont go there, i dont work there but i will spend my money in a place that bring the best burgers to Lee's Summit...i dont work there , but as part of Lee's Summit Chamber of commerce i was invited to pre-opening event, again what a great turn out...prices are not similar, i am starting to think you were not even there and are just trying to put this place down...What do you do for a living? are you too good for that place?...b2 does not have 'best burger' in Missouri, blanc does...and if you would have read menu it clearly reads 6oz burgers $6-$8...i went to blanc burgers in Leawood last night and in their menu clearly states burgers are 1/2lb (8oz), and prices are $8.-$15.-$21...i for one find better value staying close to home...finally if YOU think you are too good for b2 that is your choice not everybody else's...for the record, i am not a b2 employee.
ReplyDeleteSomeone clearly has a personal ax to grind and it's too bad they are trying to use this blog to bash a great new addition to Lee's Summit. I went Wednesday night and thought the food was very good. People should try it and make their minds up for themselves. It's definitely worth trying. I will be going back.
ReplyDeleteanonymous...it is "inside out" not "onside out"
ReplyDeleteblanc burgers does not carry
fancy "guava soda...do you even go
there?...
I ate there today and thought it was good. My burger arrived hot and tasted great. I'm not a big fan of the fries, but I tend to like thicker cut ones. I am happy to be able to get The Roasterie's coffee and Foo's Custard there. I liked the meals I've eaten at the two Blanc locations, but I prefer the "smaller" burgers at b:2. Still plenty of food! The servers today were friendly, although a bit forgetful. I will definitely go back. It's smart for b:2 to create a menu and pricing structure that appeals to the local community. Whether they've successfully done that remains to be seen.
ReplyDeleteIs this place kid friendly? Or more "upscale"/date night? (I've never been to Blanc (gasp!))
ReplyDeleteKelly, B:2 has a kids menu. Options include Cheeseburger, Homemade corn dog and Grilled cheese. Comes with a side of fries and a drink for $5
ReplyDeletePerfect! We may have to go check it out this weekend...thanks for the info!
ReplyDeleteMy wife and I tried B:2 the other night and got exactly what we expected; which is a great burger at a pretty good price. The lack of soda options does hurt a bit, but I got over it quick enough.
ReplyDeleteWe both actually prefer the smaller burgers that B:2 has. They are better sized for our appetite and cost a bit less. Both of our burgers were cooked perfect and tasted just like the Blanc we both love (we normally eat at the Leawood one).
Again, excellent food, good prices.

My wife and I love B:2 and have never had a bad experience. Just a note about the burgers...any of their beef burgers can be substituted with turkey burgers. And I know that doesn't always sound good, but my wife got one with turkey instead of beef and even I had to admit that it was THE BEST TURKEY BURGER I'VE EVER TASTED! I couldn't even believe it was turkey at first, it was just too good.
ReplyDeleteLoved this place! Daughters came home from school one weekend and I couldn't wait to take them to the one in LS - got there and it's GONE! Closed! auuuuugggggghhhhh!!!!!!!!
